“Textural Emotion 2 — Bird’s Eye View” captures the feeling of observing the landscape from high above, where rivers, geological formations, and mineral deposits reveal patterns normally hidden at ground level.

Flowing layers of resin create sweeping bands of turquoise, soft sand tones, and mineral blues, forming a topographical landscape that feels both natural and abstract. Lines of crushed glass and coloured stone cut through the composition like mineral veins or winding waterways, adding dimensional texture and light-catching surfaces.
From a distance the piece reads like an aerial landscape — a terrain shaped by water and time. Up close, the intricate textures and crystalline elements reveal themselves, transforming the work into a richly layered exploration of surface and depth.

Part of the Textural Emotion Series, this work explores how fluid materials and sculptural textures can translate natural landscapes into emotional and geological impressions.

Created by an Alberta artist as part of an evolving body of contemporary mixed media work exploring texture, depth, and organic systems.
